After months of speculation, Live Nation has confirmed that Cher will perform a one-off, New Zealand concert in September 2018.
Fans of the iconic American singer had been Believing the 72-year-old singer would bring her Here We Go Againtour to New Zealand since she announced Australian dates in early May.
That was partly fuelled by a post she made on social media in May last year, saying she was, “Hoping to do concerts in Australia and New Zealand in 2018”.
Now Kiwis will only have to wait until September 21 before she “Turns Back Time” with a show at Auckland’s Spark Arena.
he is promising to play all her classic hits, from I Got You Babe to Strong Enough, as well as possibly some fresh material off her upcoming, as-yet-untitled new album.
Cher last toured here in 2005, when she sold out Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium and Christchurch’s Westpac Centre as part of her now, ironically titled three-year Farewell tour.
Tickets for the 2018 show, which is also expected to feature her trademark lavish and flamboyant costumes and elaborate stage production, go on sale to the general public on 1pm on Wednesday, July 4 via Ticketmaster, with earlier pre-sales available for Spark customers and My Live Nation members.
