CHER to launch her Las Vegas Shows soon!

Word is from Las Vegas insider Robin Leach that Cher is going to announce her Las Vegas shows this month in New York on a string of popular TV shows….
First I was told to “expect the official confirmation announcement any moment now” from Cher about her new upcoming string of shows at the Caesars Palace Colosseum. Then I was told, “Keep an eye on Jan. 28 or sometime that last week of the month.”
Either way, Cher is in charge of breaking the news herself and she’s planning to do it with a big splash in New York rather than Vegas!
Watch for her 24-hour media day of back-to-back appearances on Good Morning America, The Today Show, plus David Letterman and Regis & Kelly to announce the new run starting either the last week of April or the first week of May at Celine Dion’s former home. Bette Midler will be appearing there in the meantime and I’ve learned “her ticket sales are going through the roof—and far better than anybody dared dream possible. She’s a sell out and going at the same pace as Celine!”
Apparently, Cher plans to stop in Vegas en route home to Hollywood after New York to meet all members of the Vegas media community and reveal further details of her spectacular. Tickets for Cher’s show should go on sale by Feb. 1 at the latest!

This is too exciting. When are these TV appearences going to take place? i don’t want to miss them! i hope this time it’s true, but why doesn’t Cher.com update the site on Cher? They should provide info on this groundbreaking chapter in Cher’s career. It’s upsetting because Bette Midler’s site is updated because of her headlining at Vegas. Who knows? But Cher.com has not been updated since 2005.

I also read an article that says Cher had a contract signed before Bette for a show, however in what seemed like a rant Cher tore up her contract at the last minute and wanted to demand more before she accepted an offer for a Vegas show. Cher has since went back into negotiations with AEG Live! and is said to have now signed on for 100 shows a year starting later in 2008. Cher and Bette with be the new “Celine and Elton” of the Coloseum. The official announcemnet is set for late January or early February 2008.

Reported Cher will make her annoucment right after the Super Bowl (I understand thats sunday right?!) while on a New York TV broadcast next week.
