Legendary superstars Cher and Tina Turner rocked hard on April 26th 2008 for the Oprah Las Vegas Special. The special to air on TV May 8th, a couple of days after Cher’s premiere at the Las Vegas Coliseum Caesars Palace has now been taped and Cherworld.com is here to provide you with all the insider news..
Tina Turner announced on the show that she will be going back on tour at the age of 68 after a long break from the industry. Tickets are going on sale May 12th and the tour will commence October 1st 2008. Tina said on the show that she was inspired by Sophia Loren, who insisted that she must get back on the road.
Cher performed “Take Me Home” on the Oprah show, in a glitzy blue dress with matching headpiece and an army of dancers dressed in a 70s theme. Tina Turner performed the Nutbush and later both Cher and Tina were introduced by Oprah as .. “A pair of Queens” to perform “Proud Mary” together. Cher looked more sexy than ever in a shiny red mini dress and an amazing straight long black wig. The crowd couldn’t believe how youthful the pair of them looked. Considering their combined age is approaching 130 years!!
The show also included footage of Cher with her costume designer Bob Mackie. The pair showed off the numerous costumes that Cher will wear at her Las Vegas Caesars Palace Concerts. One of the highlights was a full length Indian headdress that Cher introduced as “Cleopatra comes to Caesars Palace Las Vegas”. Another costume was a goddess warrior look, which was out of this world!
Cher said her Las Vegas setlist will span all decades and include hits with Sonny, including “The Beat Goes On” as well as a classic Sammy Davis Jnr hit “I Gotta Be Me”. Her huge hits, Believe, Turn Back Time and I Found Someone will of course be included.
Cher talked about her relationship with Tom Cruise and in depth about her Las Vegas Concerts. She just looked fantastic!

Great! so happy I read theres 17!!!!! costume changes in the new show!! Can’t wait to see here in the red dress and black wig! sounds awesome. Thanks for the post and for saying you’ll post the pics and vids of it on here, as sadly Stephen I am quite sure it will not be on the the UK

1/ The description of the outfit Cher wore to perform take me home sounds exactly like the silver outfit she wore for the Believe Tour and then again for the Farewell tour (only this time in red). So nothing new here.
2/ Also I don’t understand why the media are saying Cher REVEALED she dated Tom…That’s never been a secret…

What I posted was info. from the Cher Scholars site, they are campaigning for more than just stars but i would personally focus on Stars if you do write. Allman and woman is an excellent album, Cherished is really really bad. But Stars is the one we want, the best of the three and stands alone. If they get e-mails in my opinion wanting everything re-issued it cheapens the effect, in any case if “Stars” does well the others will probably follow….

can’t forget about “I’d rather believe in you’ I haven’t heard it in a while but I remember liking it alot especially the song ‘Flashback’ way ahead of its time….should be re-recorded along with ‘I paralyze’ two songs I’d like to see her re-record….ok I am done sorry to have bothered you…lol
