Cher Las Vegas on ET Video
Cher is back and larger than life with an all-new, exciting Vegas show — and ET’s Mark Steines is getting the grand tour behind the scenes with the ageless diva! But first, she’s clearing the air on tabloid rumors about her health…
“I don’t look at them, so I don’t know,” says Cher about the tabloids and reports that she is battling cancer and seeing Farrah Fawcett’s doctor for treatment of the disease. She shrugs off the rumors, saying that her health is okay.
“Yeah!” she tells Mark. “What did it look like tonight [when I was performing]?”
Cher has had her share of setbacks with the show. She previously had to cancel her run in Vegas prematurely due to asthma problems, and in order to preserve her voice, she does not speak at all when she’s not on stage.
“After the show I just do complete vocal rest,” she says. “I text my friends, which aggravates them to death, or I e-mail them, and I just write notes to whoever’s around.”
And sometimes performing live presents its own hazards: “I’ve fallen twice on that stage!” she reveals, explaining that during the “If I Could Turn Back Time” number, dancers throw their hats and, “My right foot hit [a] cowboy hat and felt like Superman. … And then I fell on my knee and my hands — [but] I never dropped the microphone. I never missed a beat, didn’t miss a note or word, and I think [the audience was] just stunned that I fell so hardcore and then just jumped up; because I was [stunned].”
Cher’s show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is an ultra-glitzy, 90-minute production spectacular that leaves audiences breathless and wanting more, performing her hits from across the decades backed by breathtaking choreography and all the Vegas-style trimmings.
“My voice is The Picture of Dorian Gray,” she says about her timeless vocal ability, which seems to get better with age. “Who thought I would be here this long? No one.”
And Cher pulls no punches when it comes to the Octuplet Mom, Nadya Suleman, saying, “You cannot be a single mom living with your parents on welfare and have all of those children. That chick is like on planet I-don’t-know-where.”

Wow Cher, you look absolutely AMAZING. The person who wrote your songs BELIEVE and STRONG ENOUGH – to name but a few, certainly must have predicted your future because you are STRONG ENOUGH to be a ‘star’ and amaze your true fans and you sure BELIEVE the same as all us fans out here do – in YOU. You go from strength to strength every time we see you and you continue to astound us all with your outfits, presence, dedication and of course your singing. Go Cher, wish I could come and see you but the distance is simply too far. As to the woman with all the children, once again you have nailed it, she should not have had them. What on earth kind of future do they have? Soooooo many unfortunate woman out there are devestated at not being able to conceive or carry children, or better still be able to afford to have the kind of help she had to become pregnant with these little babies. Wow…great interview! Can’t wait for the second part. I just love the costume that she wears when she’s performing ‘Love Is A Battleflield’.

i recently went to a record fair and brought some Cher records!! i got Look at us by Sonny and Cher and Bittersweet white light! i also got a greatest hits of cher that has the EXACT same front cover as the Golden Greats album so i don’t know if that is a rare record or not lol. i also got the singles to i got you babe, little man, but you’re mine and it’s the little things! two are U.S singles, and two are U.K singles! i also got an 80′s compilation called gypsies tramps and thieves, and an 80′s re-release of i got you babe so i’m pleased!

CAGES DEBT TO CHER
NICOLAS CAGE credits CHER with helping him become a Hollywood star – because she fought to land him a role alongside her in Oscar-winning movie MOONSTRUCK.
Studio bosses were reluctant to cast the then-23-year-old Cage as Cher’s love interest in the film – but the singer/actress dug her heels in and landed him the part of New York baker Ronny Cammareri.
The movie won Cher a Best Actress Oscar and catapulted Cage onto the Hollywood A-list – and he is eternally grateful.
He says, “She really was a champion for me. At a time when people didn’t see me as a romantic actor, she fought for me.”

I think Nicolas Cage is hilarious and a brilliant actor so CHER has good taste! I hear his new movie “Knowing” is fascinating and I cannot WAIT to SEE it! Also, I heard him on Letterman & I do NOT want him to go HNAG GLIDING!! And CHER THANK YOU for Vegas AGAIN! WE LOVE your taste and we love your CLOTHES, and VOICE and SASS!
